Another incredibly busy month with the ability to impact the lives of 40 cats so far (still have appointments next week, weather looks agreeable AND we have a warm holding space). We are working on some well-managed colonies for caretakers who have been on our list for months and also transported 10 pet cats to Dr Lawler in Dansville for owners who don’t drive or needed lower cost spay/neuter.
A few weeks ago one of our reliable colony cats went missing only to show up a week later with a neck wound that needed immediate attention. We re-trapped him and are so grateful to the vet staff at Rochester Animal Services (@vsas_ras) for tending to this boy. We are caring for him now and he is on the road to recovery. We cannot stress enough the importance of feeding the cats during daylight hours so health concerns can be spotted quickly.
