Tell us about your cats!

International Homeless Animal Day

Saturday was International Homeless Animal Day, created in 1992 to spread awareness of the problem of pet overpopulation. The global problem of cat overpopulation and a scarcity of affordable spay/neuter appointments is something we see everyday here in Rochester :crying_cat_face:

This fortunate group of felines, having their daily morning meal, is part of a colony we manage where we’ve fixed 33 cats. Sixteen of these cats were found to be adoptable and are now not homeless :smile_cat:

While the main focus of TNVR is sterilizing and vaccinating cats, when it’s done in conjunction with managed colonies, returned cats are guaranteed daily food, water, shelter, and oversight. And….friendly cats, often abandoned or lost strays, find their way off the street and back to the lifestyle they once knew :cat:
